FORKLIFT OPERATOR TRAINING

Forklift accidents are more common than people think and can happen in the blink of an eye. Below are  reason why incidents may occur:

  • Driving with the load elevated
  • Improper backing up, turning, braking or accelerating
  • Improper warnings and poor communication during shared tasks
  • Narrow passages, obstacles, poor surface conditions
  • Inadequate servicing of the forklift
  • Horseplay, stunt driving, jerky, erratic driving

The Forklift Training course is intended for participants who are new to the trade or an experienced operator looking for re-certification to sharpen their skills.

TELEHANDLER OPERATOR TRAINING

3 common accidents are:

  • Hitting or running over a pedestrian
  • Damaging racking and nearby structures
  • Tipovers and rollovers 

A telehandler is somewhat like a forklift but has a boom extension (telescopic cylinder). The increased versatility of a single telescopic or articulating boom that can extend forwards and upwards from the vehicle. Can also be called a zoom boom or rough terrain forklift.

The Telehandler Training course is intended for participants who are new to the trade or an experienced operator looking for re-certification to sharpen their skills.

ELEVATED WORK PLATFORM BOOM LIFT / SCISSOR LIFT OPERATOR TRAINING

Operating an Elevated Work Platform (EWP) is a highly-skilled job that can be very dangerous if not performed properly. The following are a few hazards that are associated with operating these machines.

WHEEL LOADER OPERATOR TRAINING

SKID STEER OPERATOR TRAINING

Skid steers are a common piece of equipment found in a variety of industries. While they are small in size, the dangers can be great. It is critical to take time to recognize the hazards present during the operation of the skid steer so that the necessary best practices can be followed. A few challenges that make operating these machines hazardous are:

  • Striking others while backing up
  • Damaging equipment and structures
  • Tipover

FALL PROTECTION TRAINING

A significant number of lost time injuries can be attributed to falls in the workplace. While the majority of falls occur on the same level with minor injuries, falls to a lower level usually result in more serious injuries or even death.  Falls can be prevented through proper training.

Our Fall Protection Training Courses will provide participants with an understanding of their responsibilities when working in areas where fall hazards exist. 

Our experienced, certified instructors offer three Fall Protection Training courses, to address your individual training needs. Courses all include hands-on activities, video instruction, student participation, and a written practical test.

Fall Protection Comprehensive (8 hours)

This end user full-day program is designed for any worker performing duties where a fall hazard exists. The course will provide a more in-depth understanding of the use of fall protection as it relates to each at-height situation. The subject matter will identify which options may best suit your needs and give you the tools and knowledge to work at heights safely. (ie: trades, construction, roofer, iron and steelworkers, telecom specialists to name a few)

After completing the Comprehensive course, if a student requires a transfer to another province they can register online and complete the course within their jurisdiction.

Fall Protection Essentials (4 hours)

This end user half-day program will allow you to understand the essentials of fall protection as it relates to the heights within your work environment. This course is suitable for individuals whose work surroundings are consistent. (ie: aerial platform, bucket truck, scissor lift)

Confined spaces can be more hazardous than regular workspaces for many reasons. Accidents can happen quickly, often resulting in death. Through proper hazard assessments and control programs, these incidents can be avoided.

Our course will provide participants with an understanding of their responsibilities when working in areas of confined spaces.

Our experienced, certified instructors are aligned with Provincial Legislation. British Columbia Confined Space Entry and Standby Personal course are recognized by BCCSA (British Columbia Construction Safety Alliance).

Courses all include hands-on activities, video instruction, student participation, and a written practical test.

Confined Space Training (6 hours)
